Frank Capra's classic tale of George Bailey and his Christmas Eve visit with a guardian angel was nominated for five Oscars® including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor. What if that entire opening sequence, indeed, the entire flashback framework, had been invented in the editing room and designed as cheaply as possible, scavenging every useful piece of leftover trim available? What Savant hasn't heard pointed out elsewhere is that this must have been Capra's statement against the violent, amoral 40s thrillers he so vociferously condemned in his autobiography, films like Kiss of Death where grandmothers in wheelchairs are pushed to their deaths down stairways. To provide him the help he needs, a neophyte angel, still in the process of earning his wings, is dispatched to take over the case of George Bailey.

To this end, Clarence shows George just how badly Bedford Falls and its residents would have turned out had he never been born. Extras: Language(s): English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Hard of Hearing Subtitles: English, Subtitles: English - United States, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French - Parisian, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Spanish - Latin American, Swedish, French - Parisian (Forced), German (Forced), Italian (Forced), Japanese (Forced), Spanish - Latin American (Forced), Interactive Menu, Screen ratio 1:1.

This film is one of several films for the actress Beulah Bondi portrayed James Stewart’s mother, and the other films were ‘Mr. Farrell MacDonald (uncredited), Wilbur Mack (uncredited), Philip Morris (uncredited), Frank O'Connor (uncredited), Moroni Olsen (uncredited), Franklin Parker Almira Sessions (uncredited), Brick Sullivan (uncredited), Carl 'Alfalfa' Switzer (uncredited), Max Wagner (uncredited), Larry Wheat (uncredited) and Charles C. James Stewart cited George bailey as being his favourite character and when Frank Capra inherited the project, he wrote it for James Stewart. Starring the unforgettable James Stewart as George Bailey, the man who receives the greatest Christmas gift of all. Frank Capra's trick rests in the fulsome manner in which he allows a motion picture audience to share in the glory.

Note: Our refurbished grades - Pristine, Very Good and Good - are solely based on the cosmetic condition of the phone. IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE [1946 / 2016] [Platinum Anniversary Edition] [Blu-ray] It’s One of Those Ageless Movies .Mary’ [1945] film is showing at the cinema as George runs down the street in Bedford Falls, well Henry travers who place Clarence the angel, starred in that film as Horace P. Dialogue is very clear at all times, and thankfully fixes the audio defects that hampered the original inferior DVD version, which caused the sound to occasionally take on a horrible annoying muffled quality. Later, Frank Capra reframed the shot so it looked like a much closer shot that was actually filmed, because he wanted to catch that expression on Stewart’s face. He proves his moral mettle by refusing to sell out to a predatory banker even though the transaction would finance his wanderlust. Now you can watch the holiday classic like never before, newly remastered from the original film negatives and more vibrant than ever in High Dynamic Range!
