About this deal

On our weekly Tuesday Tips live show, I recently talked through my thoughts on the Prime GO, so if you want to see me discussing what’s in this video with our audience, here it is: Users can now sync tempo with external hardware using Ableton Link over both wired and wireless networks. Once Ableton Link has been enabled, an orange link icon will be shown in the top right of the toolbar providing the number of linked devices, sync lead tempo, and phase meter showing the current beat position. When synced, the tempo will match the tempo of the longest playing device. The lead tempo can be adjusted from any device and all other linked devices will automatically follow. But in all honesty it would make a perfectly good first and only DJ system, too – after all it is highly specced, sounds great, and has built-in streaming for modern DJs who increasingly won’t want to own music (that world is coming, people…). And because it is CPU-based, Denon DJ can (and continually does) issue firmware upgrades to add new features.

Using your mobile data or either a venue’s WiFi or wired internet connection, you can stream music from TIDAL with its catalogue of over 60+ million songs, just using PRIME GO and with no laptop needed. Never be caught out again for that elusive song request, having literally the world’s music, exclusive playlists and curated content at your fingertips! More exciting streaming partners will be available soon. I got some hands-on time with a unit at a Denon DJ press event, and this article and the accompanying video are my first, hands-on review. Expect a full review from us in due course. The hardware Despite it running from battery quite happily, the headphones monitoring is nice and loud too, and so overall as far as sound quality goes, it is a pleasure to use. 2. It feels pro Access and play your digital music using PRIME GO’s USB and SD inputs. Choose to keep a large capacity SD card ‘always-in’ and available as a mini-hard drive, or execute easy DJ hand-offs with the USB port for a fellow DJ. Want to record your DJ set for an important gig? No problem; PRIME GO has you covered, able to record directly to any connected media source connected to it, even the one you’re playing from. The swipe-down menu on the Prime GO has some handy options – including crossfader contouring, quantize, and split cue.The Go is fully up to the Denon technical specs at least when it comes to the outputs. Enjoy the quality sound of the unit and have fun mixing! But please note that no matter how well Denon designed it and the exceptional value it provides, it is not immune to misuse. Learn proper gain structure, there are tons of youtube tutorials available! There is auto looping and loop move on each channel, and while the performance pads are limited to four each side, they have a “layer” button so you can cycle between 1-4 and 5-8, so really, you do still have all eight pads. They offer hotcue, loop and loop roll (no slicer on this model). The M classification means the programme might contain violence, sexual material, offensive language, adult themes, nudity, or other content that some children and parents find challenging. The programme may contain content with a moderate impact and themes that require a mature outlook. On free-to-air television, M programmes may be screened between 9am and 3pm on weekdays (except during school and public holidays, as designated by the Ministry of Education) and after 7.30pm until 5am. The Denon DJ Prime GO is fairly small. At 16” wide and almost 11” deep, it is smaller than the DDJ-SB3 or DDJ-400. When considering the options in terms of bite-sized DJ gear out there, even the ultra-compact Vestax VCI-380 –long considered one of the smallest, higher-end controllers on the market – has a bit of size on the Denon DJ Prime GO. available sample banks let you load your own or the pre-loaded samples to the performance pads and assign the output to any of the channels or the master output. Where the sampler is assigned to the master output, you can control the volume level on screen.

When it comes to having a fully featured, fully standalone DJ system capable of running without a power source for 3-4 hours –complete with the build quality and inputs and outputs expected from a professional DJ, this really is a unique piece on the market. And it’s all housed in an ultra-portable form factor, while running an OS with the most intuitive UI on the market." Our customers have found the Prime GO perfect for secondary setups at a wedding ceremony, summer fairs, street parties and most outdoor events. For some, it seemed like an intriguing concept. For others, it felt like an expensive toy. In this COVID era, though, a battery-powered, standalone standalone DJ setup now seems like the perfect option for those looking for ways play an impromptu set in the relatively safer outdoors. Let’s GO take a look…The capacitive touch platters are tiny –just 3.1 inches –and are by far some of the smallest platters out there, on both controllers and standalone systems (not counting the ultra entry-level micro controllers like the DJ2GO or the Party Mix). They feel responsive enough – they are just on the small side of things. Faders Keep in mind that screens differ radically across subjects. I would recommend using E-Prime 'set display to desktop resolution' as there's little way of predicting what different people have at their disposal. That also means your experiment needs to scale images and use percentages rather than absolute values. Sampler Updates - audio can now be routed to any channel or Main output and the Sampler Mode can be accessed by double-pressing the Roll mode button on hardware (previously you could only access by pressing Shift and Roll) I am not one for audio specifications. I use my ears. And this thing sounds great. We have used it with portable speakers, and studio speakers (my favourite current monitors, the iRig iLoud MTM), and PA speakers. The audio quality from its audio interface is excellent – detailed and crisp. Here’s the thing. Small versions of “serious” gear often feel at best like also-rans, at worse, like cheap consumer versions of that bigger gear. Not here. While this isn’t, of course, particularly cheap, it is built just as well as the more expensive Denon DJ Prime gear. It is a dream to DJ on, albeit a bit fiddly (although the small jogs don’t bother me at all). In all ways, it feels like “pro” gear to DJ on – just shrunk. Strangely maybe, the small jogwheels didn’t worry me at all – and I thought they might.

Engine OS units include pre-loaded sampler content with drum kits, scratch phrases and sound effects. The Prime GO has a surprisingly professional set of outputs for such a compact system. All three standard cables are supported for the outputs: XLR, TRS, and RCA. The XLR and RCA outputs are controlled by the same knob, while the 1/4”/TRS outputs have a discrete volume control. In terms of audio quality, the PRIME-GO DJ Console doesn't compromise. With 24bit/48kHz capability and balanced XLR and TRS master and booth outputs, you are more than flexible enough for a mobile gig or house party. Denon's Prime Go DJ Controller even lets you use your mobile data to stream music from a streaming platform of your choice. TIDAL is the first compatible streaming service, although a firmware update will add more streaming services. Endless creative mixing possibilities

Will this new concept take the market by storm, or is it an idea that they need to develop further? In this review we’re going to break down everything you need to know about the first of it’s kind, the Denon DJ Prime GO! The Construction Online experiments may well provide a reasonable stop-gap solution and Psychology Software Tools, the developers of E-Prime, came up with a timely, free extension to E-Prime that enables us to get data from over the internet: E-Prime Go. So, seriously, a free update allows us to finally run E-Prime online?! How did they manage that? In this post, I will explain by reviewing E-Prime Go from the point of view of a typical user, answering the questions: How does it work, is it any good, what is still missing, and what should you as a user keep in mind if you want to go Online. But just to prime you with my opinion: it works locally, impressively well, though it doesn't do cross-platform, but is rather headache free and gets the job done. All in all a fantastic feat by PST that is timely, critical, and critically timed! PRIME GO has all the creative, hands-on features and power you’d need for any style of DJing. With 2 channel line faders, crossfader, capacitive touch jog-wheels and expressive 3-band EQ, you can shape and blend your audio to sonic perfection. Take the music into another dimension using PRIME GO’s assignable beat-FX module, in-line Sweep FX and Filter for added audio manipulation.
