The motor is planted in the 4WD chassis' rear, with power going via gears to the rear wheels and propeller shaft to the front. This is a special custom (street spec) version of the 1998 Ford Escort, which was most recently released as a WRC car in 2004 (Item 58335). The body depicts the Ford Escort as a customized street version of the WRC car, and is based upon the TT-02 chassis.
A slimline three-piece monocoque forms the centerpiece of the MF-01X chassis, and the propeller shaft is positioned to the right. Now, this rally legend is recreated in an R/C model assembly kit, with a polycarbonate body accurately capturing the ageless style. This is a special custom (street spec) version of the 1998 Ford Escort. The body depicts the Ford Escort as a customized street version of the WRC car, and is based upon the TT-02 chassis. The actual car was powered by an inline-4 2-liter engine offering 300PS and 50Kgm of torque. Fittingly, it is based upon the MF-01X chassis, which has dedicated rally parts and is at home on a range of surfaces. Based around a tough monocoque frame with integrated gearboxes, this compact 4WD chassis gives a thrilling drive whether you take it on road or flat dirt surfaces. Why not employ the separately sold Tamiya LED Light Unit to add even more realism to your Escort Mk.II Rally? Power from the rear mounted motor is transmitted by gear differential to the rear wheels, and via a propeller shaft to the front.Based upon the versatile MF-01X chassis, it will provide plenty of fun on both road and dirt surfaces.
