But... How has Rochas Man aged over time? How is it right now, compared with the current scene of releases? The base is the nicest part (IMO); it's a lovely, sensual, mixture of dark woods and spices on top of patchouli and ambroxan.

I got this as it was compared to A*men, and I love amen (pre-reformulation, haven't tried the last one yet). But I dont think this are comparable scents at all. Amen is a much heavier, fullblown cold weather fragrance. Of the two, I do prefer amen, but certainly not unhappy about this addition to my collection at all, and doesn't feel redundant either. I'm wearing it quite often.MASS APPEAL: 8/10. Vanilla in the opening to pull you in, and smoky goodness in the dry down, hard to go wrong with. Scents that I find this very similar to are Swiss Army Classic and Aspen by Coty but even though it’s similar to these cool water clones it goes more in the rich,green direction making this not smell like cool water and too insence-like to not smell like Green Irish Tweeed. I’ve noticed with my skin, most colognes don’t get great of performance anyways, so your mileage may vary. I was fascinated with the start of a creamy coffee mixed with some clean floral scent. It is not the warm or powdery bitterness of the roasted coffee beans, but it's the cup of coffee that has some creamer and sugar. I don't recognize the bergamot or the rasberry but the woody scent appear naturally after 5-10 minutes to balance the sweetness. This is one of a few fragrances that I can identify clearly the notes after spraying it.

definitely in the bleu/blue genre but the juniper sets it apart from being just another ambroxan-shower gel clean bleu/blue frag but not drastically different; smells similar to Coach for Men but remove the pear and replace it with juniper berry and add Dylan Blue ambroxan;I know him, I've tested him before. Couple minutes really nice, maybe a bit sweet, then so'n drydown, which is already somehow mossy, so lab moss, and a bit tart, riper, but no longer really nice, I think. Distinctive, but quiet. I don't know if I'm making myself understood?" (Pause) "Anyway ... It's an office scent, or just home office, whatever. Doesn't hurt, has nothing to do with art. Can go away, but can also stay."
