Description

In one of the earliest scenes, Kaya remarks that Kyouhei's working hours (starting at lunch, and usually going well into the evening), which he expects his secretary to keep as well, not to mention his ferocious work pace and exacting standards means that his secretaries frequently resign... and when it does, the whole secretarial pool has to cover the work. Japanese manga is one of the best types of comic for you to read. Manga has amazing art style and exciting storytelling. Nowadays, with the help of webtoon – a kind of webcomic that allows you to read comics by scrolling easily, manga is adjusted in the webtoon form and free online manga brings even better experience to readers. So, Kaya files for a transfer away from the man who will never return her feelings, far from constant reminders that she truly means nothing to him. LOL what? Okay, let me spoil the first chapter for you and you can join me on the Rollercoaster of Disbelief. Tomu, Ohmi (2007). "Chapter 1". Midnight Secretary (in Japanese). Vol.1. Shogakukan. p.6. ISBN 978-4-09-130857-3.

On the outside, she’s a work from home mom and bookbinger. One the inside, she’s a thirteen-year-old boy screaming to get out and tell you the pervy joke they found online. As an ex-computer programmer, she dreams of one day combining her love for writing and college credits to make the ultimate video game!On closer perusal of the publishers this is a VIZ Europe division that has so far released Anime in German, and they are branching out into manga this year - with Midnight Secretary as one of the launch series. Other launch titles include Toriko, Blue Devil and Akuma to Love Song (which IS licensed in the US but under the title Devil and her Love Song). I'm sure if I try to read this manga again in about 3 years I'll go crazy, however, actually this manga was very addictive to read, I felt like I was 13 again, at least until part of it. I just wish that this romance wasn't so reliant on romance tropes. Yes, some are explained well by him literally being a vampire, but you could also say that about Twilight and these tropes aren't any less creepy or annoying.

Midnight secretary...actually this manga was the first Josei I read. But my opinion is based on my experience reading shoujo, seinen and mature titles, not on the shounen/action/martial arts titles I know what I must look for and what I should not expect. Midnight Secretary follows the relationship between Kaya Satozuka, a private secretary, and her boss, Director Kyouhei Touma of the Touma Company, who is a vampire. Magic is a tool to bend to our will. There is no limit to what it can do if one has the desire to do so.”

GN 1

For Kaya her job as a secretary is who she is--its everything she's wanted to repay her mother for raising her. She takes her job seriously, works hard and when its appropriate she speaks her mind. Because of this "pride" as a secretary she's at odds with Touma--who has a chip on his shoulder against humans (including his own family), a chip on his shoulder about women (which granted, we come to find out is not entirely unreasonable) and is perfectly fine with manipulating Kaya's sense of duty to get her to stay by his side. Enjoyment: Well, like I said before, it was fun like reading a fanfic until one part, after that it got boring. The series is about this girl who becomes the new secretary of this hot CEO guy. Now this guy is special because he is a bloody manchild. Acting like a kid on many occasions. But its ok cuz he's hot, a vampire, and rich. Also yeah he's a vampire in this story. Because the author was too busy to think up of actual ideas she just took one from the free idea book. There is also some twists in this series. Which is baffling to me because I think the author forgets that you aren't actually supposed to see the twist coming. Thats why its called a twist. Hello Gemmies! I have an entertaining new manga review to share with you today. Midnight Secretary Volume 2 by Tomu Ohmi is the second magna in the Midnight Secretary Series. This was such a fun read that I devoured it in one sitting, and decided to binge the entire series! The cover design is sleek, modern, yet whimsical. This time Kyohei is front and center.

If you want a funny gag manga you have to look elsewhere. There is some comedy relief, but most of the manga is serious, without the usual tear-jerking or laugh-inducing moments. If you don't like serious manga, have never had a job (you liked) before or never fell in love I doubt that you will understand it or enjoy it. Tomu, Ohmi (2007). "Chapter 5". Midnight Secretary (in Japanese). Vol.1. Shogakukan. p.156. ISBN 978-4-09-130857-3. Art: It's curious, I know the manga is from the 2000s, but his art looks older, I'm not very used to that style, but it's not bad art, just different. Ohmi has an interesting take on vampires in this series; far as I can tell they can't be made, only born and only between a human and a vampire. As such there's few enough of them in existence. Much of the popular folklore about them is false also. They only need a meal once or twice a week to sustain them, direct sunlight weakens (but doesn't kill) them and its the power of faith (of any religion) that hurts them, not the artifacts or words. And Kyouhei and Kaya are one of my favorite otps of all time. There's just something about these two people meeting and changing each other's lives that makes my heart pump like no other manga does!a b Tomu, Ohmi (2007). "Chapter 6". Midnight Secretary (in Japanese). Vol.2. Shogakukan. p.42. ISBN 978-4-09-131206-8. Second, I found "Mr. Director" to be really awkward. I wish it would have been just "Director". Like, I guess I get it, but maybe because I got used to shachou (director/president in Japanese) on its own it was, like, really weird. Kaya Satozuka is in the early stages of her career. She’s dedicated to her work, and will do whatever it takes to be successful. She dresses like a stereotypical librarian with glasses and a tight bun, because she looks really young and wants to be taken seriously. When she starts a new job, her new boss Kyohei immediately insults her looks, and tries to dismiss her. But Satozuka is stubborn and determined, and demands that he give her a chance and let her work speak for herself. What does it take to be a "perfect" secretary? Kaya is determined to be such to Director Touma no matter what it means. Running ridiculous errands? Fine. Enduring his rude remarks about how 'plain' she is? Bring it on. Helping to schedule his "meals" with the women that he has sex with so he can drink their blood? Oh sure--wait what?!
