Description

Tsubaki oil has a long history ingrained in Japanese culture and beauty rituals. It is derived from the seeds of the Camellia japonica plant. Origins : Washing hair with rice water comes from an old Japanese tradition called called yu-su-ru. Japanese women would wash their hair with rice water to strengthen it, and help it grow at a faster rate. Leave-In Conditioner : To control frizz, add shine, and hydrate dry or damp hair, use a small amount of Tsubaki oil as a leave-in conditioner.

It's essential to distinguish between "cold-pressed" and "cold-filtered" when purchasing oils, as they indicate different production methods and quality levels. Peppermint oil is a natural oil that is rich in antioxidants which helps in hair growth. It helps to protect the hair from damage, and it also helps to keep the fine hair healthy and shiny. 7. Tea tree oilThe Tsubaki oil has been found to be extremely effective in hydrating the skin and protecting it from environmental damage because of its high Vitamin E content which is a natural antioxidant that works as a great anti-aging ingredient. Also, its fatty acid composition makes this oil very nourishing and prevents moisture loss from one's skin. Anti-aging properties Green Tea Extract : Adding green tea extract to Tsubaki oil boosts antioxidant power, protecting the skin from free radicals and promoting a healthy complexion.

Camellia oil is mostly safe to use on skin, nails, and hair. However, anecdotal evidence suggests it can be toxic if you ingest it. Hence, be careful when using it in your face masks or toners. Avoid the eye area when you apply the mask that contains camellia oil. Close your eyes and lips when you use the camellia oil toner spray (or use cotton to apply the toner). What’s more, it has a high content of monounsaturated fatty acids, such as oleic, and linoleic acids. This is where its beneficial properties stem from. According to From Nature With Love, it contains: Palmitic Acid: 6.0-15.0%, Stearic Acid: 0.8-2.0%, Oleic Acid: 72.0-87.0%, and Linoleic Acid: 5.3-14.3%. Dr. Murphy-Rose adds that while there are no strict rules on what tsubaki oil shouldn't be mixed with, she recommends against using it along with other oil products. "This may contribute to too much oil on the skin [or scalp]," she says. If you have difficult, unmanageable hair, you can apply Camellia oil before washing to untangle and make it more manageable. Camellia Oil's Extensive Benefits for Hair Seaweed (Nori/Kombu) : Seaweed extracts are used for their mineral content, which provides hydration and promotes skin elasticity.Burt's Bees Tsubaki and Honey Deep Conditioner: This deep conditioner is designed to nourish and repair hair, and it contains a blend of Tsubaki oil, honey, and almond oil. Radiance : Because of its moisturising properties, regular use can help to create a complexion that is more radiant and glowing. The Camellia family includes a vast number of species. Besides the all-important Camellia japonica (Tsubaki), the Camellia family includes many other plants such as Camellia sinensis (the common tea plant) and Camellia oleifera (notable for its edible properties).

Rice Bran : Rich in vitamins and antioxidants for skin brightening and softening, rice water is used as a mild cleanser or toner. The nourishing oil is a beauty secret of Japanese women and was used by the ancient Geishas for centuries. The high levels of essential fatty acids in the oil nourishes the skin and helps to moisturise it. Make sure not to confuse tea seed oil (camellia seed oil) with tea tree oil, which comes from Melaleuca alternifolia tree, native to Australia (and completely unrelated to camellia).
