Abram felt guilty about bringing this disgrace to my mother. He believed he could set things straight by marrying her and giving us his name. He asked Izola to marry him, and she answered with an enthusiastic, Yes.

Of course this statement in itself is not a proof (to others)- just another step in the direction in the search for and revelation of a continuing series of objective proofs. Henderson first appeared on stage in January 1875 at the Globe Theatre in Boston in support of the British comedian J. L. Toole. She was 15 at the time and appeared under the stage name "Ogarita Wilkes". A few months later, she appeared as Donalbain in Macbeth in the farewell engagement of Charlotte Cushman. From this point and for the rest of her life, Henderson travelled across the United States and Canada with various theater companies, except for brief periods away.A month later, on January 15 th, 1889, Rosalie Ann Booth, the eldest daughter of her beloved mother, passed away. Her death certificate states the chief cause of death was “bulbar paralysis” with “progressive spinal sclerosis” as a contributing factor. Her final illness lasted from January 7 th until her death on the 15 th at 10:00 p.m. Her body was transported from New York to Baltimore and a surprisingly well-documented funeral commenced: Martha Lizola Mills (Izola) lived with her mother aboard their father's ship. When her mother died, her father had Izola boarded with relatives or friends. When she was about twelve she ran away and was taken in by the Children’s Mission to the Children of the Destitute in Boston. Aswad, Ed; Meredith, Suzanne M. (2002). Broome County 1850-1940. Arcadia Publishing. p.115. ISBN 0-738-51075-0. I must confess I am now beginning to think that Booth may have been murdered or indeed fled the country forever. Note: In the space of 24 hours hours we have received two new articles about Rita Booth. Those and any subsquent materials will be added under the cemetery story below):

Joe is of little use, poor Rose – of none at all… ’Tis for poor Rose I feel the most anxious – she has just sighed, barely loud enough for me to hear, “I wish I was gone to”; poor, poor soul! I must arrange something now for her.” Series IX, PHOTOGRAPHS, OVERSIZED, AUDIO-VISUAL, AND MEMORABILIA, 1866-2004 (#PD.1-PD.55, 69FB.1-69FB.8f, F+D.1-F+D.4, 70FB.1m, 71FB.1m, Phon-4.1, T-332.1-T-332.2, MP-52.1-MP-52.18, DVD-5.1-DVD-5.2, 72CB.1, Mem.1-Mem.2), contains candid and portrait photographs; oversized publications, playbills, and artwork; DVDs, reel-to-reel home movies, audiotapes, and ephemeral items. It is arranged in four subseries. John and I had a farm near Harpers Ferry. Two weeks after John shot Lincoln, he returned to our farm. I took care of him while his leg healed. Later, I helped him leave the country. IF SOMEONE CARES ABOUT THE OGARITA PORTION of the SAGA here are some photos to fill it out. These are ALL from the theatre where she last performed, and which she died in the hotel then next door in:For some nights past she [Mary Ann] insisted that Rose should sleep in the same bed with her – she felt too nervous to be alone, & Rose was asleep beside her, when the nurse woke her & informed her of Mother’s death.” I am afraid there is not enough evidence to suggest these different women having Booth’s chidren. Potter was trying to claim inheritance for Kate Scott’s child; if you can believe any of these stories. Possibly politically motivated or indeed trying to claim inheritance if true? Because of the inept method by which records were kept, hundreds of bodies were never identified,” the 1950 Press recounting says, “Graves were opened and bodies were found missing. Tombstones were found over empty graves.” With the recent inauguration of a new United States president, I was reminded of some of the odd bits of presidential history. I found once such story in my sister-in-law's family tree. Martha Lizola Mills; her daughter, Ogarita Elizabeth Bellows; and her granddaughter, Izola Louis Hills, all believed Martha was the secret wife of John Wilkes Booth, the person many witnessed assassinated then president Abraham Lincolon. They also believed Booth escaped and lived several more years and that he fathered a son with Martha Lizola after Lincoln's assassination. The story of Booth escaping to Virginia then to Harper’s Ferry was researched by Ray Neff based on him unearthing reams of papers from Stokes who was writing a a book on Potter. Andrew Potter and his brother Luther or Earl Potter, were detectives following a lame Booth and a man called Hynson and a third man called Johnson (Booth’s valet). Indeed Potter lived but some doubt is thrown on him working for the NDP under Baker.
